To ask the Minister of Enterprise, Trade and Investment for her assessment of the impact of the cancellation of the Tourism Events Fund on the recent growth in tourism and hospitality.

Answer

The overall financial position for the Northern Ireland Block for 2015/16 is very difficult. It is on this basis that applications are not being sought for the Events Fund for National Sponsorship Scheme and new International Events in 2015/16.

Currently 9 International events have a commitment of receiving 3 year letter of offer from 2014/15 through to 2016/17 and will not be affected by the current funding situation.
