Answer
Services for people with a Learning Disability are being delivered in line with the targets set by the Bamford Action Plan 2012-2016 which is being delivered in partnership by a number of departments. An Inter-Ministerial group meets regularly to oversee the implementation of the Bamford Review Recommendations.
This Inter Departmental co-operation has benefited people with a learning disability in a number of important ways, including: the Community Integration Programme which has resulted in appropriate housing and support being made available for many of the people successfully resettled from learning disability hospitals between 2007 and 2015; and the Day Opportunities Model for Learning Disability which aims to increase the range of options for people with a learning disability in their day care services.
