Answer

Learning Disability Day Care Centres offer individualised programmes to the people who attend. For younger individuals day care plans are agreed with the young person, their family, carer and other professionals on transition from school. The plan for each day centre member is reviewed formally on an annual basis and may be reviewed at any time as circumstances change.

The Day Opportunities Model for Learning Disability, currently being implemented, aims to promote a greater range of day care opportunities across day centre and community options and focuses specifically on the needs and aspirations of people with learning disabilities in order to offer the most appropriate choices for independence and personal progress.
