Answer
During the pre-consultation stage on the Accessible Transport Strategy my officials engaged in discussions with a number of organisations as set out below. In addition to meetings, this engagement included participation in focus groups organised by a number of these organisations to seek the views from a wider range of individuals and interest groups.
1. Age Friendly Belfast
2. Action Mental Health – New Horizons
3. Action on Hearing Loss
4. Barnardos
5. Disability Action
6. Guide Dogs in Northern Ireland
7. IMTAC (Inclusive Mobility Transport Advisory Committee)
8. MENCAP
9. National Autistic Society
10. Omnibus Partnership
11. Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB)
12. The Cedar Foundation
13. The Consumer Council
At the commencement of the development process, officials also contacted 19 other stakeholder groups who did not respond to my department’s offer for pre- consultation engagement.
