Answer
Residential and Outdoor Education provides a wide range of positive non-formal educational experiences and opportunities for young people. Effective youth work helps young people to identify their personal and social development needs to improve both their own skills and life chances in order to create a better future for themselves and their communities. Every opportunity should be given to young people to participate in all aspects of the youth service and in a range of different ways.
As part of the implementation of Priorities for Youth, a review of all DE-funded residential and outdoor education, including Woodhall, will be undertaken by the Education Authority by January 2016 with input sought from a wide range of interested stakeholders.
Woodhall Outdoor Education Centre was last inspected in March 2012, the quality of provision was outstanding.
