Answer
The 2014-15 administrative costs of the youth service for (a) the Education and Library Boards and (b) the Youth Council for Northern Ireland are listed in the table below:
| Youth Administrative Costs | |
| Organisation | £’000 |
| Education and Library Boards 1 | 2,909 |
| Youth Council for Northern Ireland (YCNI) | 336 |
| Total | 3,245 |
1.The 2014-15 Resource Accounts for the ELBs are yet to be finalised and as such may be subject to change.
Administrative costs have been defined, in accordance with Treasury’s Consolidated Budgeting Guidance, as, ‘expenditure on running Central Government entities but excluding their frontline activities’. Therefore the above figures exclude any costs directly attributable to delivering frontline services.
YCNI have stated that of the £682k staffing costs associated with the Council £188k falls under the Treasury definition of Administration.
