Since the publication of Prisons 2020: The Way Forward in July 2018, NIPS has driven continuous improvement across the organisation. Years One and Two of Prisons 2020 have seen significant progress made towards the strategic commitments across each of the four strands of the programme (People, Services, Infrastructure and Partnerships). These plans contained over 180 deliverables, of which only 5% were not achieved, which has resulted in improvements for both staff and people in our care.
The programme will run until March 2021 and the Year Three plan has recently been finalised. Copies of the annual delivery plans, along with the corresponding end year reports, are available on the NIPS internet site.
