Answer
Due to the variable nature of working patterns across Health and Social Care (HSC), the metric used to measure staff absence is the percentage of hours lost.
Information on the percentage of hours lost due to stress and work related stress in each HSC Trust between 1st March and 31st December in each of the last 3 years is detailed in the table below. Information on PTSD is not available as this is not a recorded absence reason.
| HSC Trust | % Hours Lost due to Stress and Work Related Stress | ||
| 1st March 2018 – 31st December 2018 | 1st March 2019 – 31st December 2019 | 1st March 2020 – 31st December 2020 | |
| Belfast | 1.76% | 1.39% | 1.25% |
| Northern | 1.36% | 1.49% | 1.57% |
| South Eastern | 1.11% | 1.24% | 1.48% |
| Southern | 0.81% | 0.90% | 1.17% |
| Western | 0.98% | 0.88% | 0.88% |
| NI Ambulance Service | 2.21% | 1.90% | 2.01% |
