Answer

The provision of age appropriate care for children and young people will be addressed in the new Cancer Strategy which is currently being progressed by my Department. A sub-group of the strategy deals specifically with issues relevant to children and young people, and is making recommendations in the strategy which aim to improve patient experience for children and young people. These recommendations have been developed with expert input from service users, nursing, charities, allied health, and medical representatives. It is envisaged that a public consultation on the draft strategy will be underway over the summer.
