Answer
Northern Ireland’s Health and Social Care Research and Development Division supports high quality cancer trials, both commercial and non-commercial through ongoing investment of over £1m per annum in the NI Cancer Trials Network (NICTN).
The NICTN have advised that it does not receive any ring fenced funding to support brain tumour research, so it is not clear how much of the annual budget would have been allocated to brain tumour research over the last five years.
We are not aware of any proposed changes to the £1m per annum.
