Answer

Out of my budget this year, I have allocated £344.5 million to NI Water. This is the first year in a long time that NI Water has been fully funded. This has enabled NI Water to plan for several upgrade projects this year, in the Limavady area.

NI Water proposes to spend £282K on improvements to the wastewater infrastructure in the Limavady area this year. This will include works at Bovally Wastewater Pumping Station and Ballyclose Street Combined Sewer Overflow, as well as upgrades to the Limavady catchment area.

Throughout PC21 (2021/22 to 2026/27), NI Water proposes to invest approximately £4.744 million in the Limavady area, through further works at those locations.

In addition, during PC21, NI Water intends to carry out a programme of ca £33m base maintenance across its sewer networks and ca £159m base maintenance related to wastewater treatment works, through which the Limavady area would also expect to benefit.

These figures are subject to NI Water receiving funding for the entire six year PC21 programme. Some investments earmarked for year one of the programme may move within the PC21 period as part of the setting of a monitoring plan.
