Answer
We are fully cognisant of the importance of Black History Month and welcome the opportunity it provides to celebrate the heritage and contributions of members of our community with African and Caribbean heritage.
We welcome the programme of cultural events taking place here which is included on the Black History Month website at: www.blackhistorymonth.org.uk and would encourage everyone to get involved.
The needs, rights, history and culture of our community with African and Caribbean heritage is something we value and cherish.
We therefore remain committed to full implementation of our Racial Equality Strategy to ensure that all members of our minority ethnic communities are valued along with the skills, new ideas, and fresh perspectives that they bring to life here.
