Answer
There will be two routes to accessing new COVID-19 treatments for non-hospitalised patients this winter. Firstly, from 16th December 2021, those who are in the highest risk group, who receive a positive PCR test, will be able to access antiviral treatments. They will be contacted by a clinician from the health service to discuss what treatments is most suitable for them. The second route is through a planned national study called PANORAMIC. This will be run by the University of Oxford and was officially announced on the 8th December 2021.
