Answer
Following the publication of the support services reports in January 2021, the Northern Ireland Prison Service (NIPS) has been working with the Police Rehabilitation and Retraining Trust (PRRT) to develop support services for retired officers. This new service was launched on 1 February 2022, and includes Psychological Treatment, Physiotherapy and Coaching and Development support. NIPS officials are currently in discussions with the PRRT for the provision of additional services for operational prison staff.
There are currently no new future projects or schemes that I am planning to initiate with the PRRT for current and retired police officers.
