To ask the Minister of Education to outline what work she has undertaken, or plans to undertake, with other Executive departments, to assess what correlation there is between the number of second homes in an area and the demand for school places.

The planning of education provision to ensure there are enough places of the right type and size and which are located in the right place at the right time is a matter for the Education Authority (EA), supported by the Council for Catholic Maintained Schools (CCMS) and in collaboration with the various bodies established to represent the interests of the other sectors.

In undertaking this role they will assess all relevant evidence, including population data relevant to any area subject to planning considerations.
