Answer
As such data is not collected centrally by my Department, each of the five Health & Social Care Trusts (HSCTs) were asked for input to this question. Responses have been collated below:
Belfast HSCT Co-Director of Surgery stated that they were not aware of any cases of medical care required for Botox / lip-filler cosmetic treatments in the last 5 years.
Northern HSCT stated that there have been no known cases of medical care required for Botox / lip-filler cosmetic treatments in the last five years.
South Eastern HSCT cannot provide a response, as the Trust does not collate such information and would therefore need to conduct a manual trawl through the records of all the emergency admissions in the last 5 years, at disproportionate cost.
Western HSCT stated that they are unable to advise if a patient has previously been treated privately for such procedures or has either been admitted to hospital or attended at A&E as a result of such procedures.
Southern HSCT did not provide a response and it is assumed that they could not provide a response within the time-frame provided.
