To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister (i) whether an active ageing strategy will be included in the Programme for Government to recognise the results of the recent census that we are an ageing population; and (ii) for their assessment of how an ageing population will impact public services.

We know that the proportion of our population over the age of 65 is increasing and this will necessarily change how we deliver public services that support older people.
Discussions are ongoing regarding the development of the Programme. We are looking forward to sharing a draft with the Assembly in the near future.
