Answer
Gynaecology Services in Northern Ireland have been impacted by Covid, and other general overarching pressures, this has led to increased waiting times across the region.
The Strategic Planning and Performance Group (SPPG) has been asked to establish a forum to take forward the recommendations of the recent Getting it Right First Time (GIRFT) Report for Gynaecology. This forum has Trust, Public Health Agency (PHA) and General Practitioner (GP) representation and will oversee gynaecology service improvement and pathway development at both a local and regional level.
There may be additional finance required to meet demands in this service, and in the current financial position this may be challenging.
