Answer
One of the key objectives of the Strategic Framework to End Violence Against Women and Girls is for women and girls to be safe and feel safe everywhere. The Delivery Plan 2024-2026 sets out a programme of work with individual sectors to consider what action is required to address VAWG within that sector.
A Safer Socialising Steering Group, which contains representatives from a range of departments and organisations including Hospitality Ulster, Translink and the PSNI, has been established to develop an action plan to address VAWG issues in the context of socialising. Spiking has been identified as a future agenda item for discussion by this Group.
The PSNI Action Plan, Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls, also contains actions in relation to spiking.
