Currently there is no indicative timeframe for full implementation of the Mental Capacity Act (Northern Ireland) 2016.
A joint Department of Health and Department of Justice project team has recently been established to commence a programme of work over the next 12 months to scope the remaining uncommenced provisions of the Act and develop a costed future implementation plan. This will help inform future decision making around full implementation.
