Answer
Specific information in relation to the number of patients that have been diagnosed with conditions related to the Covid-19 vaccine is not gathered.
All vaccines and medicines have some side effects although not everybody gets them, and the vast majority of side effects are normally mild and short lasting. Unfortunately, in some rare cases, an individual may be injured due to receiving a vaccine.
For anyone who has been diagnosed or believes they have a condition as a result of receiving a Covid-19 vaccine, I would encourage them to contact their GP, who will be best placed to consider their patients clinical needs and tailor the most appropriate pathway for their specific condition.
In addition, the UK wide Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme (VDPS) allows people who have been severely disabled as a result of vaccination to apply for a one-off tax-free payment of £120,000. Applications for the payment can also be made on behalf of someone who has died after becoming severely disabled because of certain vaccinations.
