Answer
The Strategic Framework to End Violence Against Women and Girls sets out key actions supporting collaboration across government and wider society, with a focus on prevention and early intervention.
Under the Framework’s first Delivery Plan, which runs until March 2026, we committed to a number of community-led reviews to better understand the needs of groups facing additional barriers or vulnerabilities, including a review on the needs of rural women.
This will ensure we can reflect a diverse range of voices, including those living in rural communities.
Last month, we announced the Local and Regional Change Fund as part of a wider £3.2 million investment. By working with local councils, we can ensure regional balance as grassroot groups in each locality will have the opportunity to play their part in preventing violence, harm and abuse against women and girls.
Local councils are engaging with the community and voluntary sector across their districts to ensure engagement within rural areas.
