Answer
Data collected on cancer diagnosis outcomes in individuals who fall outside the age eligibility for screening programmes is outlined in the NI Cancer Registry (NICR) “Routes to Diagnosis” report published on https://www.qub.ac.uk/research-centres/nicr/CancerInformation/RoutestoDiagnosisReport/
This report, published in 2024 as part of the work being progressed through the Cancer Strategy NI 2022-32 aims to provide an indication of the key event in each cancer patient’s pathway that most directly led to their cancer diagnosis.
The “Routes to Diagnosis” report provides data on patient classification at diagnosis, including gender, age, stage and a statistical analysis of trends over time. Additionally, the report provides data on survival statistics, with comparative data provided for survival based on diagnosis route, along with detailed analysis for each tumour site.
