Answer
The provision of the PSNI’s Occupational Health and Wellbeing service is a matter for the Chief Constable who is accountable to the Northern Ireland Policing Board. It would not, therefore, be appropriate for me to monitor the effectiveness of this service.
The Department does, however, fund the Police Rehabilitation and Retraining Trust (PRRT) to provide police officers and former police officers and their families with clinical and support services. This is funded from the grant in aid awarded to PRRT and the effectiveness of the work of the PRRT is monitored by the Department.
