Answer
To improve access to dental care for both registered and unregistered patients I have invested £7million in General Dental Services in 2025/26. The £7million investment is funding the continuation of the Enhanced Child Examination Scheme, a 30% enhancement on fees paid to dentists for health service fillings, extractions, and root canal treatments, and an additional £1.6million to support dental practitioners who continue to provide Health Service dental care.
Officials are also continuing to scope further actions and initiatives aimed at improving access to Health Service dental care for both registered and unregistered patients.
