Answer
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) has been asked, as part of the Department’s planning process for 2015/16, to develop a range of savings proposals that could deliver the best possible outcomes under three scenarios, 5%, 10% and 15% .
NIFRS has been asked to risk assess and prioritise their savings proposals to minimise the impact on service delivery.
My officials are engaged in ongoing communications with NIFRS.
