To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs how many planning applications have been denied due to the negative impact they would have on native birds of prey species, in particular hen harriers and migratory birds, in each of the last five years.

DAERA is a statutory consultee in the planning process and provides advice with regard to its areas of competence to assist Planning Authorities make their determinations.
It is the role of Planning Authorities to make decisions on planning applications; as such DAERA does not retain the information requested.
