Answer

Tree Preservation Orders does not fall within the responsibility of my Department. It is the local councils who make and enforce Tree Preservation Orders (TPO) to protect selected trees or groups of trees.

Some councils publish a register of TPOs in place within their council area. East Londonderry constituency encompasses areas within two council areas, Derry City & Strabane District Council and Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council, neither of which publish a TPO register.

Individual councils are therefore best placed to provide TPO information, for which they are responsible, within each constituency.
