Answer

I recognise that this has been a difficult and worrying time for many people in our community and particularly for those who have an underlying medical condition which means they may be more vulnerable to the impact of COVID-19.

Current advice for those who were identified as Clinically Extremely Vulnerable (CEV), is to continue to work from home where this is possible. If this is not possible, they can attend their workplace provided their employer has proper measures in place to ensure social distancing. My Department has no plans to change this current advice but will keep it under review. I would encourage people to engage with their employers to discuss any concerns regarding safety in the workplace however, should further information be required or there are concerns regarding social distancing in workplaces further information can be obtained at: Health and Safety Executive.

I would encourage those who are eligible to do so to come forward for vaccination as well as for the booster since this offers the best available protection against COVID-19. The details on getting first and second vaccinations or booster are available here.
