Answer
Members may claim expenses related to their Constituency Offices, which includes amounts for heating fuel. While there is no specific “fuel allowance” available to Members, Constituency Office Operating Expenses (COOE) covers the ongoing, day to day expenses that may be claimed for running an office and this includes heating oil or gas.
The amounts paid to Members for oil and gas for the past five complete years, together with the amounts paid for this financial year from April 2022 to October 2022, are set out in the table below.
| Year | Gas | Oil | Total |
| 2017-18 | £10,990 | £15,576 | £26,566 |
| 2018-19 | £14,693 | £16,079 | £30,772 |
| 2019-20 | £14,030 | £15,018 | £29,048 |
| 2020-21 | £9,026 | £8,114 | £17,140 |
