Answer

The review currently being undertaken by the Chief Veterinary Officer will examine all matters relating to bovine Tuberculosis (bTB) programme and policy, including the actions contained in the bTB Eradication Strategy.

This review will engage with a range of external stakeholders and departmental staff as well as considering best practice and issues in neighbouring jurisdictions.

The CVO keeps me regularly updated on progress. I anticipate that the review will result in a delivery plan to be in place from this autumn which will outline our approach to bTB eradication over the remainder of the mandate.
