AQW 14121/22-27 Written question to the Minister for Communities

To ask the Minister for Communities to detail any plans he has to move to a system where Housing Associations are public bodies but without their debt counting towards public debt, similar to what exists in England.

Answer

Following the passage of the Housing (Amendment) Act (NI) in 2020, Registered Housing Associations in Northern Ireland were reclassified from the public back to the private sector. I have no plans to change the current system.
