Answer
Council dog wardens are responsible for enforcing dog control legislation in Northern Ireland, including the new restrictions on owning XL Bully type dogs.
I have secured resource and will be providing support for training dog wardens, updating IT systems and other associated enforcement needs. My officials continue to meet regularly with Northern Ireland Dog Advisory Group, which represents council dog wardens, to discuss and monitor implementation of the legislation.
