Answer
I welcome the increased use of rail services for both commuting and leisure purposes at Coleraine Train Station. However, given the towncentre location of the station, there is no suitable land available that would allow for an expansion of the existing parking facilities.
Alongside the 74 free Park & Ride spaces provided by Translink, my Department also provides a further 477 lowcost parking spaces adjacent to the station, which support commuter access within the constraints of the area. Local bus services also operate from the station, and I would continue to encourage all public transport users to consider using multimodal travel, including the use of bus, rail, and active travel options, to help reduce congestion and support sustainable transport objectives.
